Walking along the Costa Blanca

Besides relaxing on beautiful beaches and exploring charming villages, the Costa Blanca also offers a lot of hiking pleasure. Because of the mild climate, walking is possible almost all year round. Only during the summer months, when it becomes rather hot, walking is perhaps a little less advisable, unless you go early in the morning.

On the Costa Blanca, there are many hiking clubs and you can easily get in touch with the various organizations via the internet. Both experienced and inexperienced hikers are welcomed and are assured of a beautiful tour in good company.

Walking has always been very popular with residents, semi-residents, and holidaymakers of all ages on the Costa Blanca. From an easy walk meandering along the coast to a challenging mountain hike, there are walks for every level.  Generally, a reasonable condition and a decent pair of walking shoes are the only requirements.

When walking in the mountains of the Costa Blanca, you get the feeling that the world literally lies at your feet, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, the vast beaches and the picturesque towns along the Costa Blanca. In short, a healthy and active way to explore the Costa Blanca and get to know the area better.

The inexperienced hiker will most certainly enjoy the beautiful promenade in Altea. Along the seaside, you can walk all the way to the neighboring village of Albir. It is an entirely flat and asphalted walk without any difficulty at all. The many bars and restaurants along the boulevard offer all kinds of food and drinks and are perfect for a little rest along the way. Upon arriving in Albir with enough energy, you can continue walking up to the lighthouse. A beautiful asphalted path meanders through the protected nature reserve of the Sierra Helada and offers breath-taking views of the Altea and Albir Bay. The walk is signposted, and on the way up to the lighthouse, there are many quiet vantage points that allow you to sit back and take in the views.

The Sierra de Bernia in Altea is one of the favorite mountain walks of the Stadman International customers. It is a varied walk with unpaved tracks, some climbing work and a goat tunnel that has to be done on hands and knees. A unique experience that is not too difficult for experienced walkers and with spectacular views and a very high 'wow' factor.
