ALTEA HILLS, safety and privacy are priority …

Altea Hills is one of the most prestigious urbanizations of Altea, and perfect for those who value safety and privacy. It is a gated community; a closed residential area with an entrance barrier and permanent surveillance. Security guards and cameras always keep an eye out. This is a great advantage for the many modern villas in Altea Hills.

The urbanization is completely private and the maintenance of streets and street lighting is not taken care of by the municipality of Altea but by the urbanization itself. It is a very attractive residential area, with beautiful gardens and very quiet to live. Altea Hills is also sought-after because of its stunning panoramic views across the Altea Bay and the Mediterranean Sea. 

Each owner pays for the communal costs of Altea Hills according to the size of his property. For the apartments, this cost is included in the communal costs or so-called 'Comunidad' of the apartment. Because these communal costs are borne by several owners, the amount is relatively small, especially considering the many facilities and installations. Most apartments in Altea Hills have a communal swimming pool with a pretty communal garden. Generally speaking, the apartments in Altea Hills are spacious and often with large terraces.

CAP NEGRET & LA OLLA, peaceful living by the waterfront …

Cap Negret and La Olla are two pleasant, adjoining pebble beaches. This area is very peaceful, away from the crowds and with more sustainable tourism. Hotel Cap Negret and Hotel Trovador are located on these beaches and there are also a few restaurants and bars.  The beach at Cap Negret starts from the blue bridge over the Algar river.  The beach of La Olla is about one and a half kilometers long and is located between 'El Portet' and 'Porto Senso', the two smallest and most beautiful marinas of Altea. It is also the location for the annual 'Castell de l'Olla', an impressive fireworks spectacle. Dogs are admitted on the beach of La Olla. 

Along the beaches of Cap Negret and La Olla, there are mainly apartments with sea views. The privileged location by the water, with hardly any passing traffic and no disturbances whatsoever, turn them into two highly sought-after residential areas.

MONTEMOLAR, peaceful yet central … 

This residential area is located more or less at the same height as Cap Negret and La Olla, but on the other side of the main road N332 and not directly by the sea. It is a quiet residential area, with one small apartment building and mostly villas. You need about half an hour to walk to either Altea La Vella or the beach of La Olla. By car, you need less than five minutes to get to either Altea town or Altea La Vella. It is a slightly more mature residential area with many olives, almond, and pine trees, resulting in a Spanish, rural atmosphere. Because of its central location, Montemolar is a very popular place to buy a house in Altea.

ALHAMA SPRINGS

This mature and green residential area is located close to Altea La Vella and is characterized by its many pine trees and traditional villas on spacious plots.  Alhama Springs is the oldest urbanisation in altea La Vella and most villas have beautiful sea views and lots of privacy. 

SIERRA DE ALTEA, between Altea La Vella and Altea Hills … 

The Sierra de Altea is the residential area located around Altea’s golf course and on the southern flank of the Sierra Bernia. Streets are wide, plots and villas are spacious and the many pine trees are reminiscent of the French Riviera. There is a rather limited number of apartment complexes, and they are known for their spacious dimensions, both indoors and outdoors. 

Almost all properties in the Sierra de Altea are prized for their breathtaking views across the Altea Bay. The easy access, with a direct connection to the Alicante-Valencia motorway, is a great asset. Finally, there is the proximity of the authentic and still very Spanish Altea La Vella. This small village caters for all day to day needs, with several supermarkets, bars, restaurants, a pharmacy, bank office, petrol station, and various commercial stores.

PARADISO & MONTERICO, close to the village of Altea La Vella 

These two adjoining residential areas interconnect with each other. The location, next to the town of Altea La Vella is very peaceful and green. From Paradiso, a country road leads up to the village of Altea La Vella, allowing you to walk into town. Monterico is located higher up than Paradiso. Needless to say, the area is known for its spectacular panoramic views. Paradiso also often offers a nice open view. Because of the one-way traffic, it is also a very quiet area. Out of the two, Paradiso is the older district. Monterico is the younger area, with increasingly more modern and often very sleek new built modern villa’s with sea views.

SANTA CLARA, peace and quiet, surrounded by nature

This residential area is located only two kilometers away from the village of Altea La Vella but has an instant rural feeling. The environment is very green and it is considered an area for peaceful and pleasant living. Furthermore, the urbanization offers a good infrastructure with wide streets and decent street lighting. In the lower part of Santa Clara, there are two attractive apartment buildings.  The rest of this quiet residential area consists of houses and villas, of which those in the upper part, are villas with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea and the Altea Bay. 

VILLA GADEA, luxury living on the beach  

This elegant and secluded urbanization is located near the Villa Gadea Hotel. The access to the urbanization is permanently secured. It is a well-maintained residential resort, that consists of several luxurious apartments and semi-detached villas, surrounded by landscaped gardens and communal swimming pools. Villa Gadea is popular for its exceptional location right by the sea, with direct access to the beach with its famous beach bars. The sea-front apartments offer magnificent views, but the ones overlooking the swimming pools are also very attractive. The nearby hotel Villa Gadea with its many amenities such as spa, beauty salon, bar, and restaurants, is an additional asset. The motorway connection is not far away and the urbanization is very easily accessible. 

GALERA DE LAS PALMERAS, residential living surrounded by nature

Galera de las Palmeras is one of the older residential parts of Altea, in a particularly green and quiet area. This urbanization is known for its large villas on spacious plots, surrounded by greenery. The houses in the upper part, have a lovely sea view.  The urbanization is located just outside Altea and is accessible via the main road N332 between Altea and Calpe. By car, you are in Altea, Altea La Vella or Calpe in no time. The La Olla beach and the pretty marina of Portosenso are a mere five minutes’ drive away. There is a large supermarket nearby, perfect for everyday groceries. 

SAN CHUCHIM,  a stone’s throw from old Altea

San Chuchim is a small-scale residential neighborhood, near the so-called 'Casco Antiguo' or old town of Altea.  The charming old part of town is immediately recognizable with its characteristic blue church domes. In Old Altea, you can find original shops as well as restaurants that offer fine dining. The 'Palau de Altea', is nearby and is known and praised for its extensive cultural program, ranging from theater to music and dance. The exceptional thing about San Chuchim is that you can actually walk from your villa into old Altea or to the Palau.  This small villa district is therefore extremely sought after, with an exclusive location and striking views over the Altea Bay, the Mediterranean Sea, and Altea’s marina.

PASEO MARITIMO, in the middle of the hustle and bustle 

To be living by the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, overlooking the sea from your first line apartment, with the sound of the waves crashing in the background, is a dream of many. Although the firstt line apartments along the boulevard usually don’t have their own swimming pool and the terraces are often slightly smaller than in other residential areas, the so-called ' Paseo Maritimo' is a very desirable location. Along Altea’s beautiful promenade, there are shops, bars, restaurants and especially a lot of atmosphere and conviviality all year round.  Supermarkets and shops are located within walking distance. The beach and all amenities are nearby, and you don’t really need a car. Those who enjoy being part of the village life and love to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle will feel right at home on Altea’s lively boulevard. 

MASCARAT & MARINA GREENWICH - CAMPOMANES 

In and around Marina Greenwich, also known under its former name ' Luis Campomanes ', awaits quiet living with soothing views of bobbing boats, the marina, and the sea. Inside the marina, there are several bars and restaurants, and if you fancy a drink or a bite, you won’t have to look far. Those who love the calmness of the water will instantly find themselves relaxing.  Adjacent to the marina and just outside of it, there are mainly apartments with sea views. Mascarat is centrally located, close to Altea town and not far away from Calpe. At the entrance of the area, there is a large supermarket, perfect for everyday groceries.

ALTEA CENTER

Wether it’s winter or summer, there’s always something going on in Altea center. There is a wide range of beautiful boutiques and shops. On the boulevard, in the old town and throughout Altea, bars and restaurants are open all year round, with both Spanish and international cuisine, and to everyone's budget and taste. In addition to the weekly market on Tuesdays, there is the indoor market in the center of town and there are several supermarkets for everyday shopping. Those who live in the center of Altea can do their shopping or go out for a meal on foot. Most city apartments don’t have a communal swimming pool, but because you can walk to the beach, this is hardly an objection. Altea has a large sports center with an indoor swimming pool, and there are special rates for residents.  If your dream is to be able to walk everywhere, without needing a car, and you love being surrounded by people, you will soon feel at home in Altea’s lively town center.
