Altea and its Marinas

Altea appears to be a small fishing village at first sight, but as a matter of fact, there are four different marinas. You are spoilt for choice if you love being near the water, want to practice water sports or like recreational boating. The different marinas also provide the perfect location for relaxing walks along the water or a tranquil meal whilst enjoying the attractive view of the boats bobbing on the water.

Club Nautico - Altea still is a fishermen village, with an active fishing harbor. The fleet consists of 16 boats that are out on the sea from Monday to Friday. At the fish auction or the so-called "Lonja", the daily catch is auctioned amongst the local fishmongers, who in turn sell to the many restaurants in Altea.

In 1985, the original fishing harbor was expanded with the purpose of doubling as a marina as well. The so-called "Club Nautico" organizes regattas, rowing competitions and all kinds of water sports training, to name but a few. The restaurant of the marina opens daily, both for members and non-members. At very reasonable prices, they offer Spanish cuisine and beautiful views of the Bernia mountains, the blue domed church and the numerous boats.

Altea’s oldest harbor of Altea is located on the pedestrian promenade between Altea and the adjoining village of Albir. The entire stretch along the coast between Albir and Altea provides an easy and safe walk. It is, without doubt, a pleasant stroll and ideal to sharpen your appetite before going out for a meal or to help digestion afterward.

Puerto Deportivo Luis Campomanes - Marina Greenwich  - This marina is located next to the coastal road N332 between Altea and Calpe. The new name "Marina Greenwich" refers to its unique position, as it happens to be the only harbor in the world located on the prime meridian. Inside the harbor area, there is a varied selection of international bars and restaurants. During the summer months, Marina Greenwich becomes a very lively area. The two nearby pebble beaches offer many water sport options and the Spanish beach bars or so-called ‘chiringuitos’ make sure you will never go thirsty. During the winter months, and without hustle and bustle of the beach tourism, peace and quiet take over this area.

Porto Senso - The smallest and most charming harbor of the four, is one of Altea's many hidden treasures. It is well tucked away behind the entrance of an urbanization and not easy to find, but its stunning panoramic views and its quiet location make up for the initial search.  At the far end of the harbor, and right next to the water, a lovely terrace with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea and the Bay of Altea awaits. It is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif at sunset.

El Portet - The picturesque port of El Portet is one of the smallest ports along the Valencian coast. There are just 30 berths and in some places, there is a draught of barely a little over a meter. Car traffic is highly restricted in this little harbor with its cozy atmosphere, turning it into a haven of peace. From here, you can stroll a long way along the water. A walkway leads along the quiet beach of 'La Olla' and continues all the way up to 'Villa Gadea'.  Water sports enthusiasts are also welcome to rent kayaks and surfboards.

If you are considering to buy an apartment that overlooks one of the Altea ports, you will certainly find something you like in the vast Stadman International portfolio.
